Rivers, Lakes and Channels - Shallow Revetments <35º

For controlling the stream allignment and including ecological value - install a oir Log with reeds on a shaped 0.5m gabion foundation. See Eco 58.
Pre planted Coir Logs being installed to create a new lake edge reed margin. See Eco 54B.
Biodegradable woven Coir Loopmat lined channel has now developed a natural lining of vegetation. See Eco 11.
Coir logs line the base of the erodable new bank. See Eco 54B.
Construction phase of a geomac which will provide robust erosion protection of the outside bend of the river that will also have landscape value. See Eco 37B.

Shallow revetments <35º are usually geotechnically stable. They may have exposed loose soil that requires bio-engineering.

The choice of solution will depend on the severity of the risk.

Low erosion risk = <1.5m/s (Click Here)  

Medium erosion risk = <3m/s (Click Here)  

High erosion risk = >3m/s (Click Here) 

High erosion risk = >4m/s and the aggressive conditions rule out plant success (Click Here)
