HEA Panels

Maccaferri HEA panels feature a patented 'lacing knot' to secure the high tensile steel cables. this connection is stronger than the traditional 'clip/claw' pressed fastening.
Maccaferri HEA Panels (High Energy Absorption) was used to actively secure this unstable rock face in conjunction with anchors/bolts.
Maccaferri HEA panels secured to this rockface actively restrained rocks onto the face, preventing them falling. Tricky installations can require helicopters in conjunction with abseilers.

When large, possibly unstable rocks cannot be safetly removed from the rock face, a system is required that actively secures or 'straps' that rock back into the rock face stopping it from detaching and falling.

Traditionally a series of rock bolts or anchors would be installed around the loose rock and steel cables would be laced across the outcrop between the anchors.

Now Maccaferri HEA panels can be used instead and offer reassuring and reliable strength in a rapid and simple to install ready-made panel configuration. These consist of a single high tensile steel cable (1770 N/mm²) woven into a panel of square grids.

Wherever the cable moves over itself to form the grid, the intersector is secured with our patented 'knot' system. This connection is far stronger than the traditional 'clip' connection offering improved performance and reliability especially in demanding applications.

By offering a variety of steel cable diameters, and grid apetures, Maccaferri HEA panels can suit most applications.

The size of the panels can be manufactured to suit your application up to a maximum size of 10x6m.
