Rivers, Lakes and Channels - Shallow Revetments <35º

Coir logs help marginals establish.
Planted coir logs installed behind wire mesh grid to prevent early grazing by wild fowl. See Eco 54.
For controlling the stream allignment and including ecological value - install a Coir Log with reeds on a shaped 0.5m gabion foundation. See Eco 58.
The

Shallow revetments <35º are usually geotechnically stable. They may have exposed loose soil that requires bio-engineering.

The choice of solution will depend on the severity of the risk.

Low erosion risk = <1.5m/s (Click Here)  

Medium erosion risk = <3m/s (Click Here)  

High erosion risk = >3m/s (Click Here) 

High erosion risk = >4m/s and the aggressive conditions rule out plant success (Click Here)
