Embankments and Cuttings - 45° to Near Vertical Slopes

Cable anchor / Macmat R detail. See Eco 38.
Network Rail, Kyle of Lochalsh. Maccaferri Steelgrid B150 reinforced rockfall netting was used here to protect the railway line from rockfalls. The 1770N/mm2 integral high strength steel cables reduce installation and 'face-time' for contractors.

If you need to prevent spalling and rockfall. No soil addition is practical.

For these steep slopes we would be looking to stabilise the slope face only. However, progressive greening maybe possible.
