Embankments and Cuttings - 45° to Near Vertical Slopes

Network Rail, Teignmouth. Maccaferri double twist rockfall protection netting was used on this project overlooking the sea and beaches at Teignmouth.
Maccaferri Rockfall Barrier OM1000 was used in this project to provide a Certified 1000kJ absorption capacity stopping loose rocks hitting the highway below.
Rock netting applied to a natural profile.
Maccaferri Steelgrid B150 high strength rockfall protection netting, stabilising a friable rock face.
Eco Shutters are usually supplied as a dead woven willow wattle panel through which the live material is planted. When installed on a Gabion terrace they can help to generate a living wall effect. See Eco 46B.

If you need to prevent spalling and rockfall. No soil addition is practical.

For these steep slopes we would be looking to stabilise the slope face only. However, progressive greening maybe possible.
