Enkamat A20

Enkamat A20 is applied for erosion protection to new soil subject to turbulant flows during reed reinstatement. See Eco 48.
Enkamat A20 installed to protect the underlying soils.

Enkamat A20 being lifted and rolled out into the bank. See Eco 48.
Enkamat A20 being applied to river bank where flows of 3m/s could occure before the vegetation is established. See Eco 48.

Enkamat A20 is high-performance erosion control mat for use in demanding water and channel erosion applications. It consists of a 22mm deep Enkamat factory-filled with a bitumen bound crushed stone filter where the mineral particles are held in the open structure formed by the filaments. To ensure a high water permeability and allow for vegetation growth, the filaments of Enkamat A20 must remain visible after filling with asphalt. Enkamat A20 is non-toxic and approved for the use in drinking water reservoirs. It is installed both above and below the water line.

Amazingly, despite being filled with chippings, Enkamat A easily establishes vegetation. Over time, the presence of the Enkamat will be forgotten, having been engulfed in vegetation, but its technical performance will provide long-term reassurance.
