MacTex W2 (high strength woven polyester) geotextiles are used for basal reinforcement of embankments across soft foundations and areas prone to subsidence. Made from high tenacity quality polyester yarns. These fabrics are available in strength grades up to 1200 kN/m.
Typical applications are:-
- road & railway construction
- stabilising embankments on soft soils
- stabilising piled embankments
- spanning wide due to old mine workings or geological features
Created from woven polyester, MacTex W2 geotetiles have excellent stress/strain behaviour and creep resistance for long term design strengths. Where installation damage is likely to be an issue, we recommend the use of our more robust BBA Certified Paralink product.
Geosynthetics with high tensile strength are the solution to many geotechnical problems, such as deep slip failures, lateral spreading and side slope instability. A major advantage is enabling embankments to be constructed to a greater height using less space and materials, and reducing differential settlements.
