Enkamat Flatback is a traditional Enkamat product but with a more-closed, flat structure on the underside, and is used in wet, channel and river bank applications.

As full vegetation is unlikely to occur beneath the water line within the mat, the mat matrix and flat bottom are designed to accept 2-6mm dia. stone chippings. These chippings (by others) are installed after the mat is placed and are retained in the mat, thereby providing erosion protection beneath the water line. Above the water line, the mat can be filled with soils in the normal way to establish vegetation on the banks.
