Armater

Armater supports an engineered slope and is easy to use in difficult to access sites. See Eco 47.
Armater holds seeded soil permanently to the steep channel slopes. See Eco 47.
Armater permanent soil cells holds topsoil on an engineered slope. See Eco 47.
Armater is a permanent soil cell for holding topsoil on an engineered slope.

Armater is a geosynthetic cellular containment system, designed to hold a depth of topsoil onto barren slopes. This topsoil layer is placed within the Armater cells on the slope surface, which reduce wash-off and slumping of the soil on the slope. This provides an ideal environment for vegetation to establish.

In aggressive environments, it may be necessary to combine an additional erosion control blanket over the soil filled cells to provide immediate surface protection from rain-impact or drying out of the soil, both of which can compromise plant growth.

Our erosion control specialists can advise further with your project situation.

Armater is made from welded strips of polyester nonwoven geotextile. The soil cells are secured to the slope by steel pegs and proprietary buckles. The density of fixings depends on the slope angle, which can be as steep as 60 degrees. Please note that Armater offers surficial protection only and assumes that the slope on which it is placed is inherently structurally stable. If this is not the case, we would be please to offer a retaining or slope reinforcement structure to stabilise the slope.
