Maccaferri and Acheson & Glover Anchor, supported by Anchor Wall Systems Inc., have recently secured BBA Roads and Bridges certification for their MacWall Landmark segmental retaining wall system. This follows the BBA certification of their MacWall Vertica^® Retaining Wall System in June 2003. Reinforced with Enkagrid PRO polymeric geogrid, the MacWall Landmark system is suitable for structures up to 10m in height and has been approved for use by the Highways Agency.

The combination of dry stacked blocks with a positive geogrid connection provides a robust and durable system that is quick and easy to build. The blocks are manufactured by Northern Ireland based block and paving manufacturer Acheson & Glover under licence from Anchor Wall Systems Inc., based in Minnesota. Maccaferri provides engineering and design support and distributes the system throughout the UK and Ireland.

Maccaferri has already secured its first project with the Anchor Landmark System for a 10m high wall currently being constructed in Co. Galway, Ireland. This wall is currently the tallest MacWall Landmark wall constructed outside the US. Maccaferri is currently engaged in MacWall retaining wall projects with British Rail in Essex, Barratt Homes in Glasgow and Persimmon Homes in Greenock.
